The Town of Silt, Colorado is an active and diverse community where many of the residents have roots that go deep.

Since 2000, area growth overall has been accelerating, reflecting an increase of +79.82% and putting the population today at over 3100 people. Even with the growth, Silt is a small, friendly community that celebrates seasonal and special occasions as well as attracts new business and continued economic growth - a common trend in Garfield County and much of the state.

​Schools that are located in Silt include Cactus Valley Elementary, while the area middle school and the Coal Ridge High School are within the town border of New Castle. The towns of Silt, New Castle and Rifle fall within the boundary of Garfield County School District Re -2 whose local school district's website in Garfield County, www.garfieldre2.net is proud of its mission statement to "encourage, nurture and challenge every student, every day."

Area medical providers include primary care physicians and medical centers in Silt and surrounding towns, with Grand River Health located just 7 miles west in Rifle, CO.
